Marsho 0
What age do you retire your lurchers? is it down to old age, sometimes an injury means an early stop to the sport, or if the dog is still fit enough do you take it out for some bushing etc, I suppose its down to how you work your dogs terrain ,quarry etc what do you lot think. Denzil 0
Difficult one. As a creaky old geriatric myself I'd like to keep going as long as I can and it's the same for the dogs. You've got them for life in my book. If you bring on a pup to take over the bulk of the work let the old one keep going as long as they have the will to try. The sort of stuff I (used to) do will one day be too much for the heart and lungs but better than being left behind in kennel. Quote Link to post
shagly 0
You've got them for life in my book i agree mate, jess is only 2 but i will probably get another pup when she gets into her older years but would still take her out with the ferrets as she is clearly in her element when over the fields.
