40 years on a bottle of JD each day ... articulate, intelligent , funny , German military historian, didn't suffer fools gladly lived hard played hard ........ RIP Lemmy

Aye good point, rest and peace aren't words you'd associate with Lemmy

im glad i had a drink with that man back in 2003, i bought him a pint of JD and we stood up on the balcony of the vip area of an aftershow party and discussed tits and asses

I was always a Motorhead fan and Lemmy's autobiography is a good read. f****d around by record labels and made more money out of writing songs for others than himself.

He was once told that his body was so used to substance abuse that to give it up could be dangerous, LOL, then he was singing the Ace of Spades (a song he hated) and after the line "I don't want to live forever" he added "but apparently I'm going too," LOL.

Him and Philthy Animal will be doing some jamming up there above, LOL.

R.I.P.

They've got a bit of a band going up(?) there now. Don't forget wotsisname?,oh yeah Wurzel and Kelly from Girlschool. Resting in peace seems unlikely.

I first saw Motorhead slumming-it in a school hall in Crawley when not even their own management would touch em with a barge-pole .The last time I saw them was at Brixton Academy about 9 years ago. Even my mate's other half who isn't into rock said it was the best concert she had ever been to.

Alcoholic,diabetic,pace-maker ,smoker, workaholic, possibly a transvestite sh*gger ; Lemmy probably wasn't going to live for ever and there has to be more to the story than him being diagnosed on Boxing day and dead two days later.

It would be a shame if the last days, weeks and months of a chap who seemed proud to live his life "warts and all" were subjected to a bit of spin and bull-sh*t.

Still if I wasn't a computer numpty I'd put up a you tube link to Motorhead's Iron Fist (coz its my favourite:) and the Mh/Girlschool thing Please Don't touch (coz its fun)
