I,v never liked the look of Merle's Flacko, i dont know why, just never seem pleasing to my eye.

Same here matie..but, I did see a lovely example in the `s when I jugded a lurcher show in Anncrum in Scotland..wasnt so much the colour though, the dog was so well put together and I had to put it best in show,,

 

sometimes you have to look past the colour, but I certainly wouldnt have one

And yet there was a red Merle in the North of Ireland in the early 90s that couldn't be beaten at shows (mind you, shows were not as plentiful as nowadays) , he was a beauty.

I often heard lads back then saying that a lot of dog thieves wouldn't touch a Merle, to easy to identify.
