BlackStreak 498
Raw wild pig is mostly what my dogs eat when I'm home. I freeze most of it but give them fresh meat fairly often. I don't worry about diseases from them consuming the fresh raw meat and bones because if the pig had something contagious it would pass along to the dogs, the dogs would have already contracted it when they caught the pig. That question tends to be asked a lot. I freeze the intestines inside the torso for several days before allowing the dogs to consume the intestines. You would be hard pressed to find healthier dogs around me than what I have. I'm gonna go find some wood to knock on now though. 2 Quote Link to post
Ross M 149
It's fine, it was back in the day when it was wormy ect other people with be able to word it better iam shit with words but that's the jiffed of it Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I've been told by a few not to feed pork, like Ross says I think it's from back in the day when things were not as regulated. Trichinosis (spelling?) was the concern. I've fed pork chops, ham, gammon, bacon and sausage to my dogs, in moderation it's fine. 1 Quote Link to post
Maximus Ferret 2,063
bin told ham is no for dogs any one heard this ..mine love it Dogs do love it but the salt in ham's not too healthy for them so I don't feed it much. Maybe just the odd small bit as a treat. I've no problems feeding raw pork though, as long as it's been frozen for a week or so first. 1 Quote Link to post
