greyhound coats

just been reading on another site and it says greyhounds should were a coat in cold weather does anyone use these when walking their dogs

Would of though if ever they needed as coat it was when they was lying in the kennel?

I have a saluki type that has thrown to the grey side and a pure grey. I didn't coat my longdog at all as i never thought he needed it but my grey feels the cold when out so i coat her up. I think it depends on the dog, some feel the cold more than others. I have started coating my longdog now too, before we go out i warm them up with some exercises and stretches and then coat them up. When they reach the field they are all warmed up nicely and ready for some heavy running. I look at it like this, running athletes will wear track suits before any race, warm up in them and then take them off just before the race. If its good enough for a human runner its good enough for my dogs.
