How Many Of You Carry A First Aid Kit For The Dogs While Out? Please Read.

Hi. I would just like to know if any of you carry a first aid kit for your dogs while out? If you do can I please ask what your kit contains. Thanks in advance.

Large wound dressing and electrical tape in me rucksack (for me or the dog!)

Electrical tapes great stuff, it'll stick to itself but doesn't stick too well to fur so can be used to hold a wound closed but peels off okay. Also if you own a light force lamp it's essential!!

Wound dressing, small capsule of saline fluid, roll of vet wrap and some tape. Basic but pretty much all you need until I can get back to the motor or to home.

No point having anything in there you don't know how to use!!

Also carry a set of decent pliers as this helps to deal with the cause (wire/large splinters) before doing the treatment. ATB

Definitely a good idea was thinking of one for keeping in tbe car dog got a bad one the other were muscle was hanging out tbe front paw could of done with some vet wrap worth a thought

I don't carry anything with me, but back in the car I have a bag that has most things in it I will need. A towel, a coat for the dog, metacam, staple gun, couple of bandages, some vet wrap of various thicknesses and some cut and heal. It is a 'just in case' bag and it's come in handy over the years.

Quite a few christmas days ago I was out with the dog that I had at the time. He took off after a roe and when he came back he was losing alot of blood. I had nothing to stem the bloodflow until I got home. I was ill prepared, so from then onward I got myself a few essentials together. I hope I never have to need it for anything serious again....

Home bargains u could make first aid kit cheap....wound dressing is a mustbefore put vet wrap on as if only vet wrap..can be nightmare to get off again when blood starts drying...and good sticky tape to keep vet wrap secure....I also advice a head torch to th lampers so ur hands free to apply first aid

Always well kitted up in the motor, to be fair only needed it a couple of times but when you do , or a mate does it makes life alot easier

The minimum I carry is a pair of surgical gloves self closing bandage and a silver blanket for shock. The bandages are great, £1.50 from Wilko`s, they have latex in them are self seal and are reusable.
