Recommended Posts

Three bales of barley straw , a gallon of goats milk and a bucket of monkeys spunk . FFS the questions on here get better and better

If you don't like the questions on here fxxk off and look somewhere else ye prick , probably one of the best questions asked in my opinion, for most of the lurcher lads n lasses on here care for the dogs when they're out working them anyone with a bit of common sense would have one close bye in case of emergency, I take basic kit field dressing needle"n"thread gloves Vaseline and most importantly two emergency contact numbers for my vets

Sorry for biting

I don't carry anything with me, but back in the car I have a bag that has most things in it I will need. A towel, a coat for the dog, metacam, staple gun, couple of bandages, some vet wrap of various

Large wound dressing and electrical tape in me rucksack (for me or the dog!) Electrical tapes great stuff, it'll stick to itself but doesn't stick too well to fur so can be used to hold a wound close

Electrical tapes great stuff, it'll stick to itself but doesn't stick too well to fur so can be used to hold a wound closed but peels off okay. Also if you own a light force lamp it's essential!!

Electrical tape is great stuff but it's not good for wrapping around anything (legs paws, tail etc.) unless you're VERY careful not to stretch it. If you put it on with even the least bit of stretch it gets tighter with every turn and will cut off the circulation.

I read this comment earlier and thought the same thing.. Took a deep breath an thought not to bite. Fair play mate well said, me and my wife were out with the dogs Boxing Day and my dog blue miss judged the barb wire fence luckily he was fine which lead us to think we need a first aid kit. So it's a good question to be asking.

Sorry black Buck you talk shiiiite!

The minimum I carry is a pair of surgical gloves self closing bandage and a silver blanket for shock. The bandages are great, £1.50 from Wilko`s, they have latex in them are self seal and are reusable. Great for sprains as well ;-) http://www.wilko.com/first-aid/wilko-blue-cohesive-bandage/invt/0348502

Full First Aid Kit in the 4x4 and car as I`m a First Aider.

same here I am a first aider so is my youngest Daughter,

I don't understand why you would feel the need to give someone stick about asking a really good question. You sound like a bit of a penis pal.

Thanks stevo79 , FTO black buck to answer your private message Vaseline helps to stop the blood flow and stops the skin from turning back on its self if you don't have a staple gun or needle and thread handy and also keeps all shit and germs getting in to the wounds. hope that answers your question black buck .ps if you're going to start with your slaver fella please grow a pair of knackers and be a big boy about it just start a new topic so you don't ruin anybody else's then that way everyone on THL can see just what type of person or whatever you are your true colours and don't waste my time sending insulting pm's

First thing I do for any wound is flush really well with iodine or hydrogen peroxide. I have a big syringe and blunt needle I will fill full of this stuff and squirt it up in puncture wounds to flush out and kill bacteria thats been drove deep into the wound. Bandages, vet wrap, staple gun, quick clot blood clotting sponges, and some small scissors. That's all in the little bag I always have close. The main bag has a little more in it than this but also contains more of the same.
