I think you're being a bit unfair on the mutt, that could well of been the first time it had ever engaged a person. Can't expect a pet that's always been taught to be subservient to people to suddenly

A correctly trained man protection dog should keep trying to bite even if it's barely conscious ... Most are trained to take the right arm first as most people are right handed so will normally hit ou

To me it looked like a Bullmastiff cross or similar.

My mates Boerboels are 6 stone at 4 months. That dog looked too racey.

well any breed of dog over 100lb going to get bad hips+ elbows , HD was very bad in bullmastiffs, and there temps were to docile, they why I came out of the breed, you spend more time at the vets with them . the B/mal I reckon if well bred would make hell of a guard dog, after seeing them on the vids. they don't loose there hold and got very strong jaw and strong dogs for there size. lets face it a bite of a farm collie would fekin hurt never mind a 70lb B/mal , and be more healthy and vicious than most boerboels .

i have to agree bird this will be my next dog i think.

they really are, ive said before a bloke I knew who trained army. police dogs really rated them, and said when well bred no breed can touch for guard work/ attack work . the dutch, shepherd another good breed both are better than gsds , that's why the police and army gone over to them. if you get good gsd you got great guard/attack dog. but its getting them is the prob, there to much shit about in the breed .
