socks 32,253
Your right there gnash all dogs will perform better if kept in good condition but a purpose bred manstopper should be able to incapacitate the biggest of men long before their wind and stamina even starts to be tested.Seconds not minutes. I,ll take your word for it mate like i said to you before thats way too much dog for me at this point in life Purely out of interest, would that still apply to a man fighting back with i dont know a bat/bar tool of some kind.....is a proper manstopper expected to take punishment......if so surely condition has to come into it. A correctly trained man protection dog should keep trying to bite even if it's barely conscious ... Most are trained to take the right arm first as most people are right handed so will normally hit out with a weapon using that arm ... Once that arm is incapacitated the dog should go for vulnerable spots ... Groin neck face thighs etc ... I was working with a team of dogs in NI once and one of the shepherds had been in the sick bay and had come back on line whilst I was there ... For some reason nobody would suite up with him so being full of it I said I would ... So I suited up completely including safety boots and head cage ... So if I go running across the field and "scooby" is released ... f**k me he hit me like a steam train right behind the knee and took me straight down ... By the time I had tried to get up the dog had bit my groin inside my elbow behind my knee ... Everywhere there was a crease and soft spot on that suit ... By the time the handler had got to me through fits of laughter I had wrestled the dog into a sort of half nelson and the dog was busy trying to chew through head cage to bite my face ... I can tell you know if that dog nailed you in a yard you would not have been getting out alive ... I was bruised from head to foot and didn't go in with the fukcer again .....
bird 9,948
To small for a Boerboel IMO and they usually docked, but not always. I've a friend breeds them. They're direct SA imports. to day talking to a mate who lives by me , is picking up a bitch boerboel pup next week from London . he said it from top import working lines, and its cost him £ 1600 quid , bloody hell my 2 dogs only cost £ 40 quid lol. he had it as guard dog, he works away a lot so his mrs is on her own fair bit. he got male dogs there all ready (hounds) he was advised to get a bitch , as a male boerboel can be very dominant, so bitch be easier to keep with the other dogs . I still think a bel/mal or good gsd be better and cheaper to buy ..!!

I've took a few bites off of a few big dogs that I wouldn't even class as top level pp dogs just big dogs that were learning their trade.Dogs that knew how to bite but hadn't been tested or moved up to the higher levels of environmental pressure or defensive stress and ok I'm not the biggest of fellas but they shook me about and left me bruised and sore through sleeves or bite suits for days afterwards. If a properly trained dog or even a dog that is committed to biting you properly that weighs over 80lb decides it's got bad intentions on you your not fighting back in fact your brain is not going to be even thinking. My mate owns a 120lb Neo and when my other pal aggitates her she has to be tied up with a heavy spring clipped between her lead and whatever she's tied to as she cannot be physically held back and my pals a strong fit lad.Now if a dog like that gets a real life bite the adrenaline and vibes your going to let off is going to send the dog into a completely different level of drive. So realistically if a properly trained dog gets hold of you all the theories and old wives tales of what people would do to stop it go out the window.Unless you happen to have a gun in tour hand or a knife that you know how how to use effectively your f**ked.
gnasher16 30,241
Surely though human survival instinct must come into play......im sure these dogs can make an awful mess of a person and in short order too....but if either myself or my accomplice have a club hammer to hand that dog only has one mouth and im pretty sure that with even 1 crack of it i could do a fair amount of damage myself........ok we,re talking scenarios and situations but i guess what im asking is do these dogs have the same intensity when under pressure themself......i guess theres no way of knowing unless a real situation arises its not like you can just take a hammer to a dog to find out........interesting stuff anyway Edited December 22, 2015 by gnasher16
keepdiggin 9,561
does it say more for the dog to defend the property or the owner?
JDHUNTING 1,817
If you guys whos experienced it say so then fair play honestly though before reding that id of fancied my chances in a all or nothing fight, spose 80lb of dog is a fearsome foe though, one thing for sure I hope I never have to find out! Was knocking for permission once, I was really hung over and had the shakes alrwady, walked into a yard past an outbuilding and heard a noise to my left, when I looked there was a huge shepard in full flight bout ten yards off me, I just froze to the spot the thing lunged at me and bang stops dead 12 inch of my face, it was on a chain!! I stood there in shock for bout 3 secs then sprinted back to my van were my shakes were now much worse lol. Nearly every close encounter ive had with dogs has been knockin on farms for permo, the things we do for a rabbit eh.

JDHUNTING 1,817
The chain stopped just at the end of the outbuildi g were you would have to walk to get to the house so had been set purposefully he prolly had cctv up would make better tv than most crap haha I mustve looked some sight whita as a sheet before hand god knows what I looked likeafter. couple more knocked on a big old farm door and from behind the door a real deep bark that only huge dog can make , once again I was hungover (not looking good here am I) and commented to my mate I was glad it was on the other side of the door, suddenly there was silence then the sound of what seemed like a cow coming round the side of the house.I contemplated making a run for the van and leaving matey to face the consequences but in my half drunken stupor I was to slow and I looked round just in time to see the c**t jump in the van and lock the door, anyhow round the corner comes the biggest brindle mastiff cross ive ever seen bounces straight upto me and thankfully just barked phew. another was a remote hill farm as we pulled in there was a huge rough lookin collie going beserk stood on the wall when we got out it ounced over but I shoed it away knocks on door gets permision result! Heads back to van and feels summat on my leg I may of just seen a flash of grey but as I look rnd collies back on wall only ive got teeth msrks in me leg and blood dripping down, fastest collie ever that lol. also others mustve met this next dog it was a tiny little army surplus store in bury ran by two guys one had a huge greatdane the other a great dane cross, he yold me it was greatdane cross doberman but im not sure, it was feckin huge bigger than the dane with a massive deep chest and a head like a cow real nice healthy looking these thing would follow you rnd the shop unnerving shen your almost eye level with a dog!!

downsouth 7,356
A decent mastiff or mastiff cross will eat no more than a GSD and will be less high maintenance and more chilled out to have about the place.
downsouth 7,356
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZSs4xfBvaYAs you can see by that video even though the dog is doing damage a 40-50lb dog can be dragged about and manhandled to a degree whereas with a 80lb+ dog your going nowhere unless it's the dog doing the dragging about.
