Pointer X Lurcher/whippet Info Wanted

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've just joined having been advised I can get some decent advice/info here. I run a few lurchers bull x and saluki and do fair bit of beating too...... Have been given a pointer (gsp) bitch and considering putting my kc working whippet over her at some point in the future. Does anyone have a pointer x, do u rate them? and basically putting out feelers to see if there would be a market for pups? Cheers!

Thanks, tbh I've had little personal experience with gun dog breeds. I take my lurchers beating, tho admit some drives they're on lead round the cliffs etc or if there's a lot of ground game likely. At least until its running out of the drive :-P

don't know about there working ability, but I reckon you get a very over sensitive type temp, as the 3 breeds are very sensitive natures, and its one thing I hate in any lurcher seeing a fawning nature or in any breed really

I think a grey would be a better option to put over her extra height just on advantage!

I will be looking for a gwp X grey stud one day it's a route I will definitely be going down in the future I'm not much of a lamper or ferreter their perfect for day time mooching and hunting !

If i wished to breed a litter the only considerations i would consider,A. Do i need a pup,B. would the pup be worth breeding.Wishing to sound out a "Market" would be way down on my list for breeding, good luck though, you are in a long queue of lurcher production with dollar before matter.

I'd be asking if the pointer and whippet are workers and if either are worthy of breeding.

Also if there is anyone else breeding similar and could I buy a pup in as a litter of pointer x whippet are at best niche lurchers that may end up in the pounds
