Get the dog to the vet/ boneman, sometimes the correct diagnosis and advice can mean the difference between a quick healing injury and a life long recurring condition

yeh vet 1st, maybe x-ray just to bee on the safe side, then see a bone man who runs greyhounds . you need to see somebody that knows running dog injury's

Most wrist injuries involve ligaments: the bits that hold the joint together. Ligaments have a very poor blood supply which is why they take so long to heal if they have been strained, or worse, ruptured. In the case of a strain, a lot of time and rest (lead walking only for months and months) can effect a cure, but if the ligament has been torn then the scenario is a whole lot worse. I once had to keep a bitch on the lead for 6 months, without surgery I should add, and she did come right, but there was always a lot of scar tissue around the wrist and I had to be careful where I ran her and what on.

glad the dog improving , that good news the split pad, as that will heal. If it had been a wrist injury it could have been a lot worse as they can have long lasting damage  , so all in all good news mate
