Arsenal need a centre half and will go close but city for me, if utd can will it then so can Liverpool, utd will still make mistakes and will not change team enough to get then in sum sort of form for them to win league, all I hear is how poor they are in lately geez they been poor since august with sneaking 1.0 or last min wins but hey ho let's sit back and see

Van Gaal sounds as though he's expecting a push and is getting ready to jump. Making for a fascinating season all this instability and change. In truth Pellegini would be long gone if Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U hadn't been making such an ar$e of things. Could it be Arsenal's year..? Would be some reward for them sticking with Arsene, and him with them, down these recent barren years.

Also makes you appreciate how good Sir Alex actually was keeping the club at or around the top for so long. I know he had his dramas but all this 'he's lost the dressing room' talk..., Ferguson was not afraid to root out any bad apples, no matter how good they were or how well they'd served the club in the past, to ensure that he retained the respect and control over the team. Mind you, he had some good players and teams down the years..., that Man U team sheet yesterday would hardly strike fear into the hearts of any of this years Premiership teams.

I'm just reading Alex Fergusons book Leading, he ensured he had total respect from everyone with in the club, not just the players. He never tried to be one of the boys, and would not socialise with players, he felt that could affect the position he had.

It's stick or twist time, problem is LVG was never a long term manager, he was meant to be a quick fix..

If the players have lost faith in him then the longer it's allowed to fester the worse it'll get for him and the club so agree that the board have a decision to make. If the intention was always for him to hand the reins to Giggs at the end of next season then they might as well just do it now. Giggs will surely look to findw players and a system more like the one that he spent 20 odd years playing..., and one the fans apparently want a return to.

All the talk of Mourinho or Guardiola.., they won't set up to play the 'United way' either. And they'll win fcuk all with the squad that's there at the minute. For me Man U still lack quality, other than the keeper maybe, compare them position for position with their main rivals and they come up short. I think ultimately no matter who's in charge it's going to take a big financial investment to put them back on top of the pile.

From what I can see LVG has got to go, but as has been said earlier is there any proof that Giggs will be any good? If the club needs someone that knows the Man U way then why not the manager of the club that just beat them 2-0?!

 

Mark Hughes has had his ups and downs but that gives experience, he's got Stoke, with limited resources, playing half decent football and he would be in for the long haul unlike Mourinho or Guardiola.
