king 11,972
When I was about 14 I saved for a few months to buy a pair of Levis 501 which cost £50.i was happy as a pig in shit.the first night I wore them out walking past a bus stop a girl was sitting there with a black male staff. As I passed them it give me a good hard bite on the calf and holed my new jeans and giving me a few puncture wounds.gutted and pissed off I demanded the dog off her but she unclipped it and it ran off. I walked to her house to demand either £50 or the dog and picked up a fence post on the way. as I knocked the door she appeared coming through the lane and let the dog go again and as it ran up between a few cars and a line of houses I timed it perfect and slammed the post down and connected with the dogs head. It was howling in the house for ages until the police turned up. I explained what had happened and he just said right leave it there and on your way. Is that cruel I don't think so myself it could of been a kid that walked passed that bus stop. So if another dog had a grip on my dog I would boot hell out of it. End of rant.
BGD 6,436
"booting the hell" out of the wrong dog while it's got a grip on yours will just make it worse for your dog A calm, level head is what's needed to break it up before either dog sustains any real damage. You can take your revenge however you see fit after your dog is safe

Yes by pulling its front legs apart , blowing in its ear or sticking your finger up its bum , or all 3 at once

You can take your revenge however you see fit after your dog is safe I've broke many a pair of fighting staffs up bgd.the best way I've found with out a break stick is a good hard twist on the collar.strangle them off while kneeling on the dog.then a good kicking for it.

Strangling off with the collars can be the best way to go about it if you don't know the dogs or can't trust them not to redirect but I'd rather just pull their jaws apart, quicker and less chance of causing more damage
kanny 20,611
People tend to panic Worst thing you can do is try to pull dogs apart ...if a dog has hold the first thing is to stop it ragging get hold of it tight and wait for it to go for a better hold the second it goes for a bigger mouth full separate them. Braking sticks work but not the kind of thing you want to be caught carrying with a bull breed.

Or and wipe the sweat from your forehead lol.

Your method sounds good, at the end of the day the best method is what you're most comfortable with

Welsh_red 4,645
Like others have said get it Down the Vet donuts logged. If it's been a day or 2 just explain to the vet what happened s few days ago and that you wanted it checked because your worried it might get bad . If it's logged with a vet you can always use that as proof
Welsh_red 4,645
I have a long lead for my dog . Never really thought about before but what's the legal standpoint for them legally . If their 30 metres or whatever they length us then their almost off lead . Not close enough to have close control anyway
