howdeeposxxt 1,448
In life if johnny comes home upset or beaten up cause someone started on him usually one of johnny's stronger siblings goes and sorts it out and it usually wont occur again. Sometimes this happens on a globel scale one country acts the prick a bigger country trys to sort it. I know what I would be doing "comply or dxe". foxbolter 447
It should have been stopped as pups love these clowns in shows that think it's great for their dog to be pulling on lead to fight other dogs when a good smack is what they need. A lot of dogs do it because their kept on the leads from pups and never left off lead to socialise with other dog and left to learn their position in life 5 Quote Link to post
pablo esc 1,598
I recall, at a little show couple of years back and I decided to take my dog in the ring, he was a good worker, he was wagging his tail a bit, I looked to my right the was a lad with a white dog, red in the face, winding his dog up before hand, looked to me left the was a fool with his black and tan, in the air, ready for his end of dig or something to grab on the sly, my dog pulled forward a touch, and looked and was,, like what, is there something there, u got me beat Quote Link to post

A lot of dogs do it because their kept on the leads from pups and never left off lead to socialise with other dog and left to learn their position in life The dogs where socialized. Hence why it is great with my lurcher but any other dog he won't have it. And as for shows I don't take my dogs and I ain't a show pony guy if aimed at me. He sees plenty of dogs. There are dogs either side of my house. I have a dog in the kennels it sees everytime it goes out. My sisters dog and my mates terriers and lurcher every week. Think I'm trying the muzzle way then I'll see if he is good worker and decide if he's worth It. Quote Link to post
pablo esc 1,598
Some dogs could have been like that in the way the are, but forget about it when the more important things, like what there about Quote Link to post
fat man 4,741
In fairness its a 6month old pup,not going to do a lot of harm to another dog and maybe not do any at all.I have here at the minute a 7-8 month old patt bitch that goes beserk to get out of her run if she see's any other dog-bitch go by her doorway and that includes her dam but when she is let out with the rest she just growls a bit and then just runs about with the rest and if she gets a little rough with any of them then she gets her just rewards and thats the end of it,work and plenty of it will settle them down when old enough, after doing a good shift to ground with a good animal the last thing they will want is to fight with there own. 1 Quote Link to post

A lot of dogs do it because their kept on the leads from pups and never left off lead to socialise with other dog and left to learn their position in life I got a 5 year old russell dog here that was taken out with many a different dog since a puppy, used to take to car boot sales just to meet other dogs and he's a proper cnut towards other male dogs ,tried all sorts with him when he started being the twat and believe it or not he only started being the twat once he was entered and dug to .His father was also a fecker for it but was a good grafter, his dam has produced some fine well mannered male working terriers,so it's just in some of them no matter what you try to rectify it or prevent it in the first place..Bitches he is totaly fine with .. 2 Quote Link to post
AXUM 255
Anyone got any good tips to help dog aggression. My patt I'd fine with my lurcher but any other dog lurcher, terrier it just won't take to. But not barking n snapping it really does it with intent and has locked up with one of my other terriers when it was 4n half month old. It's 6 month now and it's been the same since a pup but it's great with kids, food, in the house, and my lurcher just other dogs. I was going muzzle it when going out with others until it's his turn. Anyone else had the same or got any solutions I've tried loads. Any help appreciated. It's not a problem as I av learnt what he's like and I just keep my wits about me. Just would like him calmer its do'able Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 45,147
Got a pat the same, kept fight with my pat x jack. got so bad i have to put her in a kennel/run in the garage. She was ok till she got to about 8 month old, they used to play. but now she just goes in for the kill. Used to latch on to other one and shake hell out of her. The only way i could get them apart was to throw them in the pond, and wait till they let go. for years I had 45 gallon water butts around my yard, handy for when two or more start,I've smashed dogs through 6 inches of ice before to separate them, held them under till they stopped moving, they come back around and still want more, some are just wired wrong, when my kids came along I made sure that I wouldn't have that problem again,if they like a scrap then they gone fullstop,I had 4 terriers end of last season, old bitch,2 bitch pups out of her and a black dog that was half brother/same sire different dams, one bitch kept going into her sister so had to go,the black dog would start a fight in empty f***ing box, total prick he went to my pal and been fine with his dogs, kennelled with an old bull bitch and not taken any liberties as yet.I've found that when 2 take a disliking to each other it only gets worst, and not worth the hassle in the long run,you will need eyes in the back of your arse hole, the bitches I have left will roll over on their backs when they meet another dog outside/even when they in the boxes in back of my truck, they don't want any agro and that's the way I like my dogs be it lurchers or terriers, everyone's different each to their own ,but me personally I won't keep a dog aggressive dog no matter how good the breeding or work that's gone into them. You will find that you will lose a few good uns to the wankers that like a fight, try and get it sorted now and save on the heartache. skycat 6,173
There is a belief that a terrier needs to be hard as nails around other dogs and that its aggression means that the dog will be an excellent worker. I used to keep Lakelands many years ago, and I never had a moment's peace: always making sure that they weren't about to try and kill each other. Then I discovered the type I keep now: ultra submissive to me and other dogs, friendly, never a sideways stare or a curled lip. They work just as well. In fact the old bitch I have now (12 years old) accounted for just as many if not more foxes than all the thuggish types put together, and I don't mean that she just bolted them. Dog aggression doesn't equal good ability. 5 Quote Link to post
PhilProp 51
As I said he ain't aggressive with all dogs as my lurcher he is spot on with eats out same bowl share treats sleeps together the lot. terryd 8,393
That is true the JR here was very level headed and sensible and a great worker. He wouldn't back down but was just quietly confident and apart from the great dane next door lol he never started any thing I had a lakeland that nearly killed him because he got out and the jr was chained up. The bloody thing just wanted to lock on to every thing in site apart from what he was meant too. Complete waste of time 1 Quote Link to post
