Oh Dear. The Jack Russell Has Landed. God Help Em.

Recommended Posts

Yep, it was bound to happen. It's like when they bring out a new i-phone or x box. It the same as the old but because it's the new one everyone will want one.

And Yes, it will happen to the Patterdale too. It has the lovely romantic story behind it with all the legends etc. and there'll be a hell of a lot of money to be made at first.

Who cares ????

There'll always be workers of terriers and there'll always be the dreamers.

What about the we dumpy bow legged tanks??? Are they registered

nope they won't be because bow legs is arenas a fault . I asked someone on here if they would breed from a bow legged dog and they said no ! I then repeated what even if they where a proper worker and again the same answer no as they seen bow legs as a fault . And that's from someone on here !!

the wire fox terrier/smooth fox terrier/ parson russell/ and now the jack russell. all from the same original breed. the dogs we had in the seventies would have fit that standard . before the white lakie and parsons started to sweep the boards. ah well i will follow with interest the breeding of the foundation stock.

It will make little interest to those who wish to continue to work and breed breeding terriers.

It will be of great interest to those who wish to breed for money.

Fox terriers, parson Russell terriers and border terriers all still work, especially in mainland Europe.

Does the decline of these breeds not have more to do with the decisions of the individuals breeding them than the fact they are KC recognised or not?
