Maximus Ferret 2,063
The vast majority of dogs of whatever breed that have been bred DELIBERATELY go for 400 or more. Why should a fella breeding lurchers have to give his pups away free? Now if he wants to do that so they go to homes he knows then that's fine but if he want's to cash in on the work he's put into the parents and the planning of the litter why shouldn't he??? They're his pups and he can ask whatever he wants for them. If you don't want one don't buy one and if you want a free one go to someone who's giving them away. Simple really. 2 Quote Link to post

cooper101 86
A Man can charge what he likes for his pups if he charges at all, if somone thinks it's worth it then that's there decision....a 10k pup can turn out no better than a gifted pup and vice versa....dogs aren't like cars fortunately I.e you get what you pay for....!!! It's luck and lot of effort that gets you a good dog it's not set in stone how any pup will turn out....!!! 1 Quote Link to post

chrisbullx 2,541
he got nothing for me to be jealous about mate the only thing that pisses me off men breeding dogs for dull £££ & as long as any Tom, Dick or harry comes with £400 it's sold & they don't care who as the pup or how it's kept, looked after etc anyway I've had my say f**k it I'll stick to what I thinks right & what I know because the dog game is gone all to f**k atb cbx 1 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
Money is all relative,to some one on the dole with no other income £500 is a lot of money. To a young lad ,living at his parents, with a grow on ,or selling the powder,it's easy come easy go. Some coursing dogs have gone for 5 figures in the past , if someone's prepared to pay there will be a seller. Is it right? Probably not ,but it's life. I hesitate to ask, but what's a 'grow on'?growing cannabis plants,a good earner by all accounts. 3 Quote Link to post
Butler 396
The reason most lads gift pups to selected homes is if you sell them you sell all rights to them.... Were as a gifted pup will most of the time be offered back to you if the owners circumstances change... Or if they make the grade a pup or stud is always there for you. As a rule I work dogs not bitches but if I have a bitch that is worth breeding from and the dog I use isn't from a good friends kennels (free stud) I always pay the stud even if they would take a pup in payment. As if I'm breeding a litter first and foremost its for my own use so I don't want anyone taking pick before me...Money very rarely changes hands for any litters me or my mates breed but because they are free doesn't mean they are worthless plenty of lads would pay to own one... 2 Quote Link to post
spindolero 1,111
not my cup of tea, but I suppose I do understand that some people would pay to have pups bred off a dog that was proven producer that threw stuff as good as himself or maybe even better. with very low % of failures. .................
