Beware In The Derwent Area

Recommended Posts

as some of you know already my partner andy kelly was attacked by 2 mindless thugs whilst out rabbiting on tuesday in the derwent area and left unconscious and for dead in a field.it took the local villager 2 and a half hours to find him then he was airlifted in the air ambulance to carlisle infirmary and a long taxi ride home he was returned to me with a collarbone fractured in 4 places and a broken arm, traumatized with nightmares and determined not to give up rabbiting.

please if you go out in this area make sure you have a mobile or alarm or another person with you just in case god forbid it happens again as we have just last night heard of a similar attack that happened not to far away

please anyone working the area local to derwent be extra vigilant and stay safe

thank you for the support and get well wishes it has been wonderful to know that the majority of the hunting fraternity are kind compassionate and caring at a time like this

a very merry christmas to you all and a prosperous hunting season to you all

thank you tonya

Holy crap, that's appalling. I've been into fieldsports for 40 years and never encountered, or heard of, anything like this. Worst I've ever come across is verbal abuse and once got pushed in the river while I was fishing. Thank God he was found in time, and fingers crossed he makes a full recovery.

Hopefully the perpetrators who carried out the attack had distinctive dogs that andy can recall, its normally someones dog lurchermen can recall rather than the owner, leastways it is with me,glad he is recovering and the incident ended relatively well for him, sadly it could have been a lot worse, those two guys need stopping before the attacks escalate.
