Get a pic of the welly boot lamp up, i love ragamuffin stuff like that lol, and when you use the plantpot method you need the wide end taped to the lamp lol

Catering bean tin covered in black tape-light and sturdy. The old blue eye were the best for no side glare, esp from a distance. Get some blue stick on wind screen tint and cut a circle to stick to the centre of your lamp. Cuts white glare a lot. You'll find most side glare comes from the centre of the lens which is why the blue spot works well. I've done it to every lamp I've had. About 2-21/2" diameter works for a striker.

The plr is that good I never noticed the glare lol , how I see it is turn ya lamp on and look into the beam tell me what you see ??? As that is what ever your lamping will see ?

Most people who cowl their lamp to reduce side glare are not so much interested in what the game sees as in what someone half a mile away might notice.

 

Back in the days of car lamps I used a marvel milk tin with the bottom "tin openered" off, painted black, then taped to the front of the lamp.

To reduce the size of the beam/glare just modify an old filter.

Cover front of filter in masking tape and measure centre of filter.

Using a compass mark out what size hole you want,compass marks out a nice circle and keeps it all central.

Cut it out with a Dremel using a small disc,staying a couple of mm inside the line you marked.

Change the attachment in the Dremel to a sanding drum and then take it out to the mark you made.

Remove masking tape and tidy up edge using the drum sander.

Then black out the remaining bit of the filter using Black duct tape etc.

Then fit filter to lamp as normal but you now have a lot smaller beam.

These work perfect for tailoring the beam to a size you want,I use this set up for starting off young dogs on the lamp. Hth
