One thing has bothered me about this,- why did no-one call the police when he was found, or when the emergency service was called to such a vicous attack,- the call to them of an attack like this would automatically go through to the police, for their own safety also.

would have thought the hospital would have called the police ?i think he paniced and made up the story to justify air ambulance or someone told him to make it up then it just spiraled , out of control with lies

I think that is exactly what has happened no genuine malice and because people leapt to his aid quickly it spiraled out of control now his stuck between a rock and a hard place

Thats a very feasible explanation... but when the '' whip round ''was suggested by members on here they could have politely declined

it .. they chose not to do that

I guess your right and it don't seem to matter how you look at it there's no good view unfortunately which is a shame

hes an old man folk will make sure its the last scam he pulls it will cost him somewere along the line !!hope it doesnt taint folks attitude toards the genuine that is in need

He's 55 I think. Hardly at death's door (despite what his wife might tell you) You hit the nail on the head though. He might have f****d it up for himself, but possibly at the expense of members who really do fall on hard times or need a bit of help.

I don't have much spare cash, but I do have my hands that can make things, If I can help I will always do so. From the beginning It did not sound right to me so I did not contribute. Although the posts were fragmented as the thread progressed the inconsistencies built to the point where I had to go back and re-read the thread, it was only then that I was able to see the true extent of the inconsistencies.

When I made my post about what I had found, I was hoping that I would not be the only one to see what I did. I was also hoping in one way that I was wrong, that is why at first I would not publish what I saw in the thread. It was then that people started contacting me saying they had seen the same, but did not like to say anything in case they were wrong.

At this moment in time we are still in limbo, as we cannot prove that it is a scam and it seems Andy is not willing to prove that it is not a scam. Just how that situation can be resolved is beyond me at the moment. My main concern is the knock on effect this will have with genuine people who do need some help.

I had tried at the start to back-up the account of what had happened. I thought that would be easy, but i was not able to back-up anything, and never got the same story twice. People had started to realize there were inconsistencies and it did not look right. As i said previously, what could i do from then on. I had to say something.

Before this, i'd have said he was a decent bloke. I just don't understand this. It may have been something that got out of hand,- but to then keep it going.
