Your Land

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how others are comparing this year with last year regards activity. Have to say here it is non stop on pasture, cereal land looks ok for now.

They all running well high regards this time last year due to the wet mild conditions, prefer them a bit deeper myself for ease of catching.

Good spell of hard frost required but nothing on the cards so far.

You know when its been raining alot?

Open up a mole run, and its a full on mini stream :boogy::boogy:

We've got the opposite problem. It hasn't rained properly since spring. Normally we get a second spring in October when the grass becomes green again and the reservoirs start to get topped up. This year we had a week of drizzle in September and that was it. No rain forecast until at least after Crimbo. The reservoirs are almost dry. Its like a fish soup up there.

For my part this has killed trade somewhat. I reckon that in France the first lot of young largely perish after being evicted from the nest at the end of January. That coincides with a two week period of -10C temps in February. The second lot in April and the fourth lot in October normally get off to a good start as those are temperate and wet periods. But this year the third hatch in August and the following one in October have both arrived in hot, dry conditions and if they did survive they are largely out of harm's way and not causing my customers grief on their lawns.

Fortunately I had a really good first two quarters and so will still be up on the year compared to last year. But other than my contract work things are really slow. I've had to take up golf :icon_eek:

Well. That's not entirely true. I've had to take up writing to golf clubs to try and drum up some work

Can you send some of that rainfall this way please? The way things are going both 200 hectare lakes will be bone dry by the time the carp season starts.
