If humans benefit from warm food I reckon a dog will to,

When I kept hunting dogs outside

They loved tomato soup and bread the young uns would leave,I threw all back in the cooking pan reheat it and then dish it out.

Gravy from the roast meal on their food as well,or bit of hot water on their biscuit.

If an animal is cold it burns more calories up to keep it`s body temperature normal.Hot food would get the dog`s optimum temperature back up quicker. Most lads give their dogs more food/calories in the very cold weather to keep them in good condition and less in the summer months as they don`t need as much.
