Yep think yr right, but I hit it everywhere, with that white chalk. Cotswold stuff is layered where I've been, take it to pieces like a jigsaw. Proper tools and a dog that's fit and able for several hrs, not a grab and hold for twenty mins. " my opinion only" before the trolls get going.

Sharptooth seems to break-up chalk and flint easy. It couldn't touch the cotswold stone i seen, graft made work a little easier but was still hard-work. Wouldn't want to go any more than 4 foot deep in that, feck being a fencer in the cotswolds!

Round near me is gyproc not the hardest stuff I've dug but when there's fractures in it and your quarry knows it like back of there paw don't take long to be 6.2 on box that's when you know who your mates are and the excuses come out. Oh I've got a christening at 2 or the wife's got the dinner on said I wouldn't be all day. Not always the outcome u desire but that's the name of the game and it's not every week we dig that permission takes u week to recover . Gyp roc ain't the hardest of stuff to dig just fracture lines that make easy earth's a nite mare my terriers ain't world beaters but they stay til dug wouldn't keep them if they never did there job . When you say gyproc, do you mean gypsum? What area of the country is that if you dont mind me asking.

Yes mate Staffordshire gypsum mine runs threw some of our permission. Also fauld crater that occurred when bombs went off yrs back.old keeper friend had border to ground 2 days had jcb power packs generators got his dog but quarry was in front and behind dog can be very deep rob alot of deep earth's in that part rob .

The was places there with just sand type. Good big quarry. Me and my mate one morning opened up to see one in front and the other behind biting the dog back leg.

Rob 248 some places it's bullet hard but breaks into good size stones other places it's almost sandy white I've even dug threw layers that felt like soft cheese. Luck of the draw but u can guarantee when u put dog in after 12 u hit a grueller atb.
