walshie 2,804
Well 'er indoors picked a tree. That's a nice size, she says. That'll fit lovely, she says. It's taller than the ceiling and we've had to move the furniture to the other side of the room to get it in. Good luck to her with decorating it. I'm off to London tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be done when I get back.

perthshire keeper 1,239
i know a bit about christmas trees...the estate i was on cut and sold about 70,000 every year it was trees as far as the eye can see! and was a very important supplyier to the uk market...infact if some one shows me the tags on their tree ile tell you if its from their haha.its one of the few things left where the middle man makes a SMALL margin! trees wholesale are about £5 per foot and the most demand being for 4-7ft trees...after 7 ft 90% get cut out and trashed for replanting then the market goes up even more to the 10-12-15 even 20 ft ones for market quares and churches....its a big big buisness is christmas trees.would you belive they even hand wipe a growth inhibiting mormone onto the leader of the tree to stop it growing up too fast and let it fill out? and each tree is trimmed to shape and pruned with hand sheers twice a year? WILF 46,786
Well I can't speak for lab but personally when you have spent the last 10 months cutting the fecking things down the last place you want to see one is in your front room !!

Easier just to buy a fake b*****d and let her decorate it. If it was up to me there would be no tree!
