Just got a PM on Pigeonwatch, someone has been taken for money for a rifle, the location, Gloucester, the name, you guessed it, David Graham! Not the only one, someone on Airgun BBS has fallen for it as well!

 

So just a warning to all, the scum sucking brothers are at it again, so if you are tempted to buy a rifle from the Cheltenham/Gloucester area, just go and collect it to make sure it is not a Thin Air Arms.

 

Current info on BBS gives the seller's name as Peter, currently a Peter has 2 rifles for sale on Freeads, One is a Logun S16 for under £200 and the other a BSA Ultra for £225.

Avoid trying to buy these, you could end up pounds lighter!

Freeads is a con artists friend, the damned site uses these "privacy" numbers, so you cannot tell who you are calling! All they have to do is use a prepaid sim and have a cheap phone they can dump they bought secondhand and how are you going to prove it?

 

They should really be banned from the internet!

Yes but the privacy number is a con artists dream, you do not know which number you are calling, landline, mobile, code, who the number is registered to, makes a con artists job a lot easier if they do not have to keep changing phone numbers, different phone number with each advert!

I have used free adds but stay in my own area and always ask for there home or mobile contact number.

I was put off by an add from a guy who had a number of tuned rifles that he said he had bought new but not used and they were not cheep but had a fair price tag and I was very tempted but at the end of the day I had a gut feeling not to go through with it because it was a risk.

The guy may well have been a good guy and said for me to ring a very well known tuner to verify that he had bought the imp from him but I thought for the sake of a bit more money and the weighting I could have a new one.
