Recommended Posts

some do/some dont,i know one that did very well.I have a mate or two with the exact same lines ,but if i wanted an out and out fox dog I wouldnt be thinking of deerhounds,i have a 1st x untried from his breeding,i am not too confident she will slay em silly, but i wont know till I try her, wont be an issue for me anyway as I dont do foxes unless i walk into them.send me a pm on what county your in.

Ive got a few images of some of Alans dogs, I will check with him and see if its ok to put them on here..

Ive only ever worked two first cross deerhound x greyhounds and they both slew (if there is such a word) fox, as did every pure deerhound that I owned and ran..but as Jigsaw, foxes were never my kink, but if they came in the beam, we killed them..No they are not specialist fox dogs, but dogs that are still left from any working lines should do fox if brought up to them in the right way, as you would a lurcher

the modern deerhounds might, if encouraged, rip a rossestte up from time to time, or give their owners a nasty lick..

I know what ye are sayin lads have a first x here she's 4 years old absolutely brilliant on a hare had 2 yesterday with her but will not look at a fox. As all our hunting is hares and foxes I'd like to have 1 that did both. Would breed my own bitch to 1 our lurchers which would inject a bit of fire but she never came in heat
