LaddyLurcher 261
Went up to a permission in North Yorkshire weekend just gone, me and Rynaldinho had already cancelled two week in a row because of the weather so I decided to brave it this time. Weather was a bit breezy on arrival but not to bad, got to work straight away first set two bolted fairly quickly but the next one wouldn't shit so a four foot dig saw my trusty hob hanging on to a good sized Buck in a stop end. Next set two bolted again by the trusty hob on out of a bolt hole which was not seen, it tried to escape but the dogs were on it in a flash and forced it straight back to the same set set where it back netted it's self, 2 sets 5 bunnys...set number three was much bigger about 25 holes all netted up in went the ferrets and about 10/15mins wait before one bolted in to the net and another quickly followed out the now uncovered hole, while I dispatched the one in the net with my foot over the hole, the dogs had got on the tail of the escapee and forced it to turn and back net itself in the same set. I composed my self reset nets and awaited more action, a bout five minutes past when a rabbit hit a net on the end of the set which was dealt with and seconds later another one in the same net and then all went quite for a while so out came the locator and found my trusty hob had stopped a smallish doe rabbit at 2ft an easy dig resulted in number 5 out that set. The next set was of similar size but by now the weather was unbearable but I netted it up anyway and slipped in two Jills and my trusty hob about five minutes past when a good size rabbit bolted hit the net and was despatched and at this point all the ferrets were showing so I collected them up and called it a day soaked to the bone getting blown all over but happy as Larry and plenty left there for next time!
