MickC 1,825
He should have always been in a jail, just an evil man, watched a documentary about him once and his first victim was a man. He was driving round in the back of a taxi looking for a victim and couldn't find one so he stuck the hammer in the back of the taxi drivers head. The man was left with brain damage but survived,he Identified him years later when he was caught but no charges were brought. Another ret copper who worked the case for years also said he wasn't mad as he had a green suit in an evidence box that Sutcliffe used to dress up in when attacking his victims so the murders were all planned out,he knew what he was doing. Again this info wasn't brought up at the court case .I still think to this day that more went on with Sutcliffe than what we have been told . Not sure how planning the murders proves he's not mentally ill Every expert that's dealt with him agrees he's a paranoid schizophrenic not that it's any excuse for what he did, plenty of schizophrenics out there that never harm anyone. But to say he isn't mentally ill is just false.
waltjnr 6,855
Friend of Sir Jimmy Savile as well wasn't he ........ one of the bodies was found a stone's throw away from savile's flat Well if he was a friend of Savilles,we can surely tie in the Royals and Thatcher ,seeing as Jim was such good buddies with them as well? I'm sure it's of no consequence to the victims' families that he was diagnosed with whatever mental illness. There is no mitigation for what he did.

Kay 3,709
I am a bit confused..... wasn't he diagnosed with schizophrenia ?.... hence being in Broardmoor a hospital .... so has he been mis diagnosed or something .... I know stuff I have read about him suggested he mimicked his ex wife's behaviour as she was a diagnosed schizophrenic Just slightly off topic but the bloke who played lez battersby in corrie found one of his victims body on an allotment he was working on.. He was Kay and that diagnosis hasn't changed but the Drs treating him have made the decision that his schizophrenia is manageable enough now for him to leave the hospital and go to a normal prison.
Waz 4,265
Friend of Sir Jimmy Savile as well wasn't he ........ one of the bodies was found a stone's throw away from savile's flat When I hear the name Sutcliffe, I always think of the photo of Saville introducing him to Bruno.. Talk of a few victims from other perpetrators added to Sutcliffes tally, tidies up the unsolved crime numbers and the real perpetrator carries on getting away with things... now then now then.

dare 1,103
What he done is evil no doubt about that. Can you fully blame him though if he is mentally ill? Its abit different than having a motive. Im not saying he should be freed nor do i know enough about mental health. Putting him inside a nick though for a crime he done which it sounds like he had no control off :/. I think he should be kept in a hospital. I dont know much about mental health but anyone here had depression? Only ask as its probably the most common although its over used. Dont mean feeling abit down n sorry for yourself but actual depression. Can look back at a time when i had it and i wasnt thinking or acting like the person who i actually am. TUFFTY 1,476
The man is a cold calculated planned killer. Simple. Mental health goes out the Window when your a serial killer in my eyes.
