I wear layers with a light water proof, breathable outer layer. My inner layers have changed regularly. Atm I am using uniqlo (depending on weather I 1,2 or 3 layers but I have never used third layer yet) which is reasonably warm, quite cheap and has been durable enough for me to say it is good value. My next layer has been superfine merino and a waterproof, windproof shell which is goretex. I just peel off / add a layer as I get hot/cold and have a good quality outer shell. If you buy quality the shell should last and you have to replace the base layers every few years. Atb.

Army waterproof jackets certainly are worth a look , I have two and stay bone dry, although a nice fleece or jumper underneath comes in handy in the cold, but mine are now hung up and not being worn as I prefer a thicker jacket.

And everything hears you coming from a mile away ! Lol lol

Dave Aitken. That £400 suit ain't exactly for ferreting now is it. Nice coat though. LOL

I did start off having it for "special" occasions. As these are few and far between i now use it daily for all sorts of rough shooting including ratting. Unlike the £70 one which needed a new zip fitted after a month, it's still in fine condition a year later!! ;-)
