Low if you only knew what I do with this dog everyday/week/month! He does more km in a day than most do in a year and not just in the city ;)

He ain't going nowhere near hunting until he is trustworthy. No point in a dead dog, a shitload of embarrassment and potentional bolllocks with the law.

No need for extreme measures, all you need is to fit the hannibal lecter muzzle, then the strait jacket, and chain him onto a sack barrow, then wheel him out for some low profile hedgerow mouching

He has the mask

He does a lot but he needs to calm mentally before I trust him. Trev my last was working at 10months retrieving live to hand and could be taken anywhere without a lead. This twat if he isn't scanning the horizon he's disappearing over it

As you know mush his sister has killed a good number of gear now for her age and doing well retrieved a few 4's now which wernt all the best but she's got a right gob on her aswell, a good few 3's n more 2's were the first had been a gudden and she's had a couple of wars now were she's come out on top and killed n a good few rabbits both day n night and always been spot on with sheep etc but they are abit full on or keen whichever way we could put it that thing of mine is up on her back legs sometimes if say I walk passed a gate n then tries to drag me to it I'm quite strong but Iv gota dig my heels in with her she's a real strong bitch the only thing I could fault about mine is I haven't quite bonded with her the way I am with the mother but I do like her she's really obedient n don't here a sound from her just sleeps all the time In between going out, and she also has a thin jacket and doesn't like bein out in very wet weather if it's a long spell which I'm not a fan of as if I can get wet n cold so can they oh and if if I have to go somewere and I take them to a friends to look after the others are fine but she frets bad, she doesn't mind at all if I leave her here just carries on as normal but if I take her anywere else and then try to leave she's in bits so not sure what il do next time on that score but other than that she's exceeded all my expectations running wise for her first season and although I agree with the drifter i couldn't be happier yours is with you I'd rather someone like you had him that feeds well and goes on them mad little treks that you do than someone that had done a fair bit with him but not treat him right and I know you've declined my offer of him coming back here If you needed to rehome but hopefully things will click soon for ya and he'l give you back some of what you've been giving him atb pal

Good man dodger mate. You know my opinion on passing them back I'd see it as me failing the dog ;)

It kills.me not to be out hunting and the there have been days when I've thought fuuck it lets get on a train and go mooch..... except I then think this cnut ain't gonna mooch he's gonna be off  I have a shock collar that I bought, I just can't bring myself to use it lol

I know were your coming from mate Iv never tried one of them collars tho so I don't know, don't let it drag you down tho if it hasn't worked out it hasn't worked out, think your doin great in a lot of aspects tho but one thing I'd be trying now is taking him off that pedestal for abit, don't hit him as you'll loose his genuine love forever with that type but give him a good run in the mornings on the bike or whatever then stick him in the kennel for the rest of the day giving him chance to miss and apreciate you and be less dependent on you abit like a bird lol, spend abit of time in the evening and take him for a quick walk or whatever and see how you get on with that for abit and if it makes any difference and then progress how you want things to gel from there..

Also I have noticed mine has naturally become a lot calmer and abit more loving over the last month and as you know bitches mature faster than dogs but I can tell she's never going to like me or be my mate as much as her dam does which is a shame as the bond is really important to me makes the effort n risks a lot more worth it but I can live with it aslong as she keeps putting bodies on the deck ; )

The nose is bred in them the dam was great one used a lot on the moors hunting close or ranging I used to have some great hunts with her looking down off the moor and watching her range if she needed to and she'll drag herself through the densest of brambles like a terrier but she doesn't range on the flats or the lamp, maybe try an acme whistle with him but if your walking were there's game he'l use his nose for sure like I say it's in em, if there's out about his sister will just stick her nose up in the air and be gone if you let her, I'm working on her knowing what she can and can't do depending on the situation but it isn't easy but I think the dam was about 3 year old when she was doing what I wanted "hunting nose wise" and things clicked and the pups are only 16 month old yet so I just gota keep at it slowly but surely n hopefully be ok ; )

Mate this cnuts nose is in the air 80% of the time

I've no doubt he'll pull down anything up to fallow on the run when he's ready but fuuck me he needs to grow the fuuck up and sort his act out the rebellious delinquent mutha fuka ???

Familiarity breeds contempt, give a saluki cross an inch, and they'll take a county, when my bitch was young i would let her go say fifty yards ahead when out walking then i'd stand behind a tree and when she looked back to see i was'nt there she would panic and run back looking for me, even now at 29 months she will look back every now and then before going too far, but these types are bred for serious running, and a high prey drive coupled with a big engine does'nt really lend itself to a constant at heal companion
