tote 854
I toyed with idea of using one as stud, but it seems nobody with deerhound in there dog and very few with collie, never mind a mix of both will let dog be seen working. Speaks volumes to me, sad but true Doesn't surprise me to be honest, have you noticed the number of dogs going missing over the last few years. Just because some of us are genuine doesn't mean everyone is. 1 Quote Link to post
Maximus Ferret 2,063
I'm talking about folk willing to let you use dog as stud but don't wanna let ye see it work, like I said it speaks volumes I think what he's on about is letting a stranger see your dog work. I know I wouldn't, not for a stud fee anyway. If I wanted a pup off it I might but mostly the only people I'd hunt with are family or very close friends. Anyone else could so easily be more trouble than it's worth. (Boomerangs, dog thefts etc.) Just my opinion but I've been there, done that. 1 Quote Link to post

Speaks volumes to me, sad but true Rubbish, the political climate we live in as a major influence of who and what some wish at their door.IF the right dog is wanted then the right dog will be found,i remember a miserable olde scrote with some of the best working Lakeys about, would not entertain giving anybody outside of his clique a line, his best dog lined a bitch of mine and he never knew.Im not attempting to say that this is anything like the norm, yet if the right stud cannot be sourced, then don,t breed and source the right pup.The right pups of this breeding are like hens teeth, the wrong uns, which are more numerous, are an embarrassment the owner can only cover from the safety of his laptop.IF anybody owns a proven bitch,PROVEN,of this breeding,i can sniff a nugget out like a Truffle hound, give me a shout Quote Link to post
morton 5,368
How is the dog bred Morton? Can it be seen grafting? It's okay saying I can sniff this or I can sniff that, I'd rather see, and if i owned a dog, I'd insist on seeing bitch graft, not sniff its owner lol I once went to line my bitch,South Yorkshire,we travelled a short distance to his permission and parked up,the dogs were let loose and his mutt could,nt traverse a 5 bar gate,i walked 4 miles back to my motor as i could,nt take a ride back off that sort of nugget.A day in the field tells no lies,2 minutes in honest company serves the same purpose.Id have a day out,not on my permission mind,to many bloody Australians.
