Bell Tent

It's a snug pack jungle hammock ... Weighs next to nothing and has a sewn in mozzi net ... as long as you have a decent poncho over the top of you it's every bit as good as a tent and a lot more comfy to sleep in ... I prefer it to a tent if I had to chose ......

I have a ENO double nest. I looked at the snugpaks they look good gear but they were a bit more pricey than i was willing to pay but im happy with my choice. I much prefer the hammock to sleeping in a tent. The thing i like with them you dont have to worry about condensation like in a tent.

Do you use an undequilt or just put your camping mat in the bottom of your hammock? I just use my camping mat in the bottom of mine and it seems to work well. The lowest ive slept in it was only about -2 and it kept me warm.

Is there any reason I couldn't leave this type of canvas tent up all summer if I retreat and dry it at the end of summer and pack it away well

Also how do the retreatments go on? Can you spray it on when its up and dry?, never had a canvas tent before

Get a sown in ground sheet, put soft tape round the metal zip handles, invest in good quality wooden pegs for the tension ropes (long multi notch), don't sleep in it the 1st time it rains from New (it will leak until the seams swell and close upon drying), realise it's a car camping tent and have somewhere that you can dry it out following a trip.

Most importantly, never lend it out. Ever.

Great tents.

lol did you get her scrubbing until her fingers bled mate ......

No he had me shopping for air freshners and Febreeze :D

Cheers, D.

I love my bell tent, i have a wood burner in it , brilliant for hunting and fishing trips, sleeps 4 people comfortably with the stove and 5 without, mine doesnt have a sewn in groundsheet and the walls can be lifted if you want.

Had some great trips up Scotland rabbiting in the middle of winter and it has kept us warm and dry and you can get your gear dry if need be, as jonah said you need somewhere to hang them up to dry when you have finished before you pack them away, mine is 5 yr old and have never reproofed it.

they are definitely not a hiking tent but are well worth the money imo.

If you are going to have a stove in i would recomend a carbon monoxide detector just to be on the safe side.

Great tents.

My old mate used to say there are two things you should never lend out , no 1 your chainsaw, no 2 your wife, if you do they either dont come back or they come back fckd,

i will now have to add a no 3

I was panicking for a second I thought you may have had a bad experience with that company or something!!

Yeah same its a great price

I thought I might use it sometimes without the groundsheet for potting up down the smallholding, just as a rain shelter sort of thing

I've already told the wife if we ever split I'm living in it down the holding, sod renting or buying another house on my own, I'll be that smelly guy who lives in the woods :)

Sounds like a good plan! I wonder how asy it would be to have a few linked together? Like a tented house?

That would be cool, it's pretty big already

It came today ruddy great bag about 4' x 18" weighs a ton, 5m dia and central pole is 3m high I put up the a frame for door when checking the poles and I can almost walk under it bar about an inch

Can't wait to put it up but will wait for dryer weather I think
