lukey 1,621
I'd say CM will go in as the favourite gnash. Conor dose have a big mouth but he seems to back it up well so fair play to him.
Lab 10,979
You think so mate......as much as I want Conor to win I reckon it's a pretty level playing field. Got to do something to take the belt of the champ.
Patchthedog 16
Aldo hasn't lost for over 10 years but is not the killer of old like he was in WEC. He pulled out of the last fight and isn't happy with his treatment by the UFC and the Reebok sponsership deal. Hopefully we see the Aldo of old with brutal leg kicks and wanting to finish the fight not coast to a decision. Mcgregor looked lost on the ground against a short camp 2 weeks preparation Mendes and got taken down at will. I think a full camp Mendes beats Conor who doesn't seem to have an answer for high level wrestlers. Conors body shots really destroyed Chad's gas tank in that fight and Mendes could't capitalise when he got him down. There has been a lot of talk about Conor being shielded by the UFC not having to face wrestlers so far until that late minute replacement fight. Conor is the UFC's cash cow so Dana White and the Fertita's will be pulling for an Irish win. I hope Aldo comes in focused and not disillusioned, if so he should win he's much quicker than Macgregor and is well tested angainst top competition.

I think the Chad fight did show that Conor can take some punishment. He took some nasty elbows on the ground....didn't seem to phase him. I think his unorthodox style of throwing punches and kicks from all angles makes him very dangerous as well as interesting to watch. Also will have his hands full. Patchthedog 16
Will be interesting to see what sort of shape Aldo is in as he hasn't fought since the UFC introduced enhanced drug testing. There have been rumours thats why the first fight didn't go ahead with the incident at Aldo's gym where the drug testing guy that flew over to Brazil was arrested and not allowed to test Aldo. Lots of UFC fighters have looked very different recently with the banning of trt and introduction of more out of competition drug testing. I know the lighter weight fighters often looked ripped anyway and have excellent cardio but we still may see a change. Conor has the better hands boxing wise and is unauthodox with his movement and striking like you said Lab but he hasn't faced anyone near Aldo's level. If Aldo gets it to the ground it will be an awful night for Conor, Dana White and the UFC. Sucks that BTSports has added a premium charge on the free channel that used to show UFC, would have been worth staying up for. To be honest I used to watch every MMA event going Strikeforce, Affliction, Cage Rage, Pride, WEC, Elite XC, M-1, UFC, Invicta, but now I just watch the fights I'm interested in on the internet the next day.
staffs riffraff 1,068
Connor took some solid shots when standing off the so-called mini Mike Tyson and walked through them. I think had wasn't just lounging about doing nothing then 2 weeks later fought so I don't buy that plus Connor had injuries late in his training camp and change of opponent and them body shots would of took him out a round later anyway lol

Similar to myself that mate.....really enjoyed it when it was free back in the Chuck Liddell days. I rarely missed it. Got back into lately due to Conor and probably Ronda.....lol
Silversnake 1,099
I have followed the ufc loosely for years and imo this is one of the best match ups I have ever seen. Aldo is definitely an all time great who has been champ A LONG TIME and McGregor is the brash younger challenger with no respect for aldo or his reputation. To add a bit of spice McGregor holds the interim title which both are not happy about! I don't see the ufc showing favouritism in their match ups and imo do a really good job in this regard. It is true mendes only had two weeks notice which is tough for him but McGregor also had to switch his training from one of the best stand up fighters to one of the best wrestlers who really is a horrible match up for him. He took it all in stride without complaints (and a lot of smack talk) and got a great win. As much as I respect aldo's ability and achievements in the ring I believe McGregor will destroy him in the first or second round.
