End of the day the dog jacked once (supposedly when in bad condition) out of how many times? I think you can allow an old dog an off day, it's not like we're talking game dogs here anyway.

 

And by the sounds of it he produced better than himself and at the end of the day that's a rare and valuable trait in any type of dog.

Good point and if it was only the once with just the one owner maybe the dog didn't want to work for him.? Iv seen plenty of dogs not perform at 100% for some people and be completely different with just a different owner. Maybe that could be the case, who knows.

My mates dog won't even run lamp for any one else bar his owner
