You implying we dont know what we are talking about   your local gun smith must love it when you walk in his shop

Recently got a bsa r10 from a member of here, the gun itself is a dream to shoot, can't fault it, and neither can my local gun Smith. ... my issue is the groupings are erratic, I'm not the world's be

Some of the pellets are falling threw, just fired 30 shots and the 3rd and 7th pellet are dead on, the rest are slightly off, so hoping it's the mag

I think gamerooster would no if it was a bad batch of pellets ie bent skirts or damaged heads but the old style mag has a lot of issues one being the O rings and the indexing pin some times damages the pellet when pushing it into the barrel but its not the pin its the mags O rings as some of the pellets are to tight or loose as the o rings wear and thin out in places

and the pellets dont sit right in them the new one dose away with all of this

in the old mag its the O ring that holds the pellet in place , one of the ways to check this is to hold the mag by your finger and thumb and load it up if some of them fall thru then the O rings are fecked

But hey dont take my word for it go ask your gun smith

I haven't mentioned this to him, I just got the gun checked over, seals etc... chronod as well and she's shooting grand, unfortunately he doesn't have a range so this problem wasn't saw in the shop.... off in a bit to get a new style mag, will give the barrel a clean and let you all know how I get on

Even if it turns out not to be the mag your still doing the best thing getting the new mag as the old ones are sh*t iv had two scorpions with the old style mags nothing bur bother mate got new mags and never had an issue after that

I would bet its the mag

Best is put a pull through it first to clean the barrel ,then see what it is like if its the same try different pellets ,if still no good put it through a chronograph and see what FPS it is doing ,Then come back to us and tell us what you have found , it could be even the crown

Only saying like

The mag is fecked, well the O rings any way

It will start to miss a few pellets to, it will jump or stop and when you take the mag out it will still have pellets in when this starts to happen

most of the R10s like larger head dia pellets if its a .177 then use 4.52 head size. try air arms diabolo express or jsb. the older mag is not good the pellets seem to jump backwards. this makes the bolt hard to push the pellet into bore of rifle so you can guarrantee it will not shoot the same as the first pellet. what i have done in the past with rifles that come in to me for work is cut another o ring groove in the rotor of the mag this solves the problems with older mags. for some reason the .22 does not have so many mag issues.
