gamerooster 1,179
Recently got a bsa r10 from a member of here, the gun itself is a dream to shoot, can't fault it, and neither can my local gun Smith. ... my issue is the groupings are erratic, I'm not the world's best shot but I'm not that bad, any ideas what it could be down to? I'm using the pellets the fella I got it off recommended, so all I can think of is the mag or scope.... aby help appreciated 2 Quote Link to post
paulus 26
try a different scope, also try without without the mod if it is not the one with the shrouded barrel. is the mag indexing correctly and not deforming the pellet? Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
It is the one with a shrouded barrel mate, some pellets are harder to feed than others, and some don't sit to well in the mag Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,823
Iv seen this rifle in action and iv seen it group well very well in fact, it must be the scopes as he has never had an issue with it and he is one of the lads i shoot with iv seen this rifle take down pray one after the other . what scope have you got fitted to it atvbmac  Quote Link to post

moxy 617
Bench test it. Put it in a vice or workmate and test fire a few groups at range. That will eliminate operator error!! Repeat this a few times and then top up the air and try again. Test it with the mod on and off and see what you end up with. Let us know Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
That's what i mean bud, the rifle itself is unreal, not having a dig at all about it, the annoying thing is I've already took a rabbit, pigeon, crow and dare I say it a pheasant, all head shots, it's like one pellet is bang on and the next flies of miles off mark.... I've got a hawke sport HD on it, which I was warned the gun wasn't keen on, there was a mtc mamba on it I think, there was one for sale on here but I missed it!!! 1 Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
Old mag..... Thanks for all the advice lads, trying to find a range close to me to zero her in Quote Link to post

bigmac 97kt 13,823
Fill the mag and if you can take note of the ones that are a tight fit or loose and see if those are the ones that fly wide if they do then the mag may need new O rings or you may need a new mag as i say.d before if its an old style one there nothing but bother . try cleaning the barrel any way And i no your not having a dig mate , i would be the same atvbmac  Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,823
The new mags are mint they index them self's so dose away with the indexing pin ,pellets fit better and all the bother of the old ones is history not cheap mind but well worth it in the end . and a little oil on the old style mag dose not go amiss ether atvbmac  Quote Link to post

You implying we dont know what we are talking about your local gun smith must love it when you walk in his shop Not meant in that way at all. My thinking was bad batch of pellets, tin, or tins. Gun Smith must have given some kind of advice. Edited November 28, 2015 by just-A-snap Quote Link to post
