slipper 116
How do I get her to stop as soon as I blow the stop whistle? She creeps about 15 yards before stopping completely Any tips or advise would be very appreciated as its driving me nuts! Quote Link to post
jessdale 416
Back to basics. Stop on the whistle on the lead. Repeat a million times. Stop on the whistle a foot away from you. Repeat a million times. Stop on the whistle two foot away. Repeat a million times. Etc etc. Doing things once is no good. Little steps at a time Quote Link to post
the monkey 338
Run out and take her back to the spot you blew the whistle at......sit her down and blow the stop whistle ....repeat She knows what the whistle means but is trying it on 1 Quote Link to post

slipper 116
Not sure if what I was doing was right What I've been doing was getting her to sit and stay, I then walk away about 60 yards ish, call her back and when she's half way blow the stop, is this ok? She stops instantly when at heel or a few foot in front Quote Link to post
the monkey 338
Most dogs wont stop dead when you are recalling then because you are contradicting a command... You have blown the recall and then the stop ,bit confusing ...just practise when she is quartering in front of you Quote Link to post
04fox8 168
My one (2 years old almost) will do anything when she is on her lead. Take it off and it's a different story! She stops to the whistle, but has started coming back towards me before she finally does. Why 60 yards away? Just curious. Quote Link to post
