Water!! what is your dog like with it?

My 7 month old Pup hates it runs along the bank of the stream whining while the terrier is swiming.

I want him to do a fair share of minking when hes older (obvisly when they revese this so called ban) so thats where the water comes in!!

Getting better with it he will go in the shallow part of the streams where its less than a few inches deep but thats about it!! Hes been retrieving objects from the shallow and when i throw the stick into the deeper bit he will go to the bank put one foot and quickly get it back out and then just stare at it lol

What would be the best ways of showing him water is OK ?

this might sound stupid but go in with him. my brother used to go swimming all the time with his stafford and now when she sees water she's straight in.

Earlier in the year i was just walking the stream when all of a sudden the my little terrier went of on a mink and i had to get in, came up to waist on me and the pup was only 4-5 months then and ran along the banks whining.

Ill jump in agian soon to see if hes any better!!

Dont rush it, wait till summer, he will be glad of it then :D

I found, you have to make the thing you want him to retrieve the most desirable thing in the world, tease him till he cannt stand it anymore, then he will go after it.
