Just got back in after a great day shooting,just reading comments guys!

Hi Defector, good post

 

I`m not for one second going to try and tell the lads on here how to suck an egg as this is "each to their own".

I have shot .22 since the early 1970`s right through to 2012, ( all springers ) and bought my first pcp after much research, trying out and experienced guidance from the lads at my ranges.

I bought the HW 100 kt .177 and find this rifle and calibre combination so lethal to small game that i can`t see myself changing back to .22 "EVER"

 

 

I am a "Reformed air gunner" to say the least,- go .177 by a country mile.

Back to the post, what PCP are you thinking of getting... Not that I need ask, and just out of interest

 

Would love a HW100 but tempted with the Ultra depends on funds will need to wait a while if im getting the HW!

If you not 100% sure mate , hang on a bit . The ultra is a fine rifle , and will do you well

But hang on in there a bit , because there's nothing worse than buying twice , if the ultra don't float your boat

Iv had a few rifles well one or two

 

and iv got the hw100 sporter and its every thing the lads say it is but there was a time i hated them you could not give me one

 

I was there no1 hate fan but it was a thumb hole my first one and i cant shoot a thumb hole to save my life lol

 

that was it for me only had it one night

 

until i got the sporter she is my baby now along with my raider

 

And i have the use of a ultra se 22 (little hunters my grandsons) don't get me wrong there a cracking rifle and up there WITH the BEST but if you can hang on then its a no brainer

 

HW100 sporter every time in 22 of coarse

 

if you can try the sporter full length and the kt full length and the kt carbine and the sporter carbine

 

in 22 or 177 and see witch one suits you better

Well i have already decided im not getting a thumb hole dont like the look of them and just like the traditional look,so i agree with you there mac!

the only thing that lets them down is the shot count

Or if you want an ultra then why dont you go scorpion just as good and that little bit better shot count

You see i have ultra and two HW100k and the regged ultra will match the 100 and many other top price air guns ,including daystates pellet for pellet any day of the week
