low plains drifter 10,317
Just had a call from the vets. They sent the swab off to the lab and results showed resistant bacteria.. So they have matched the correct antibiotic to his infection... I thought it was weird that an infection was still present after a month of antibiotics.. Fingers crossed now, she said just a week on these ones should be enough to see him back to catching 3/3 (haha) Hope that works for him mate, bobza off here had a right old carry on with this sort of infection in his saluki lurcher, but all come good in the end, the dog is about 7 year old now and is still a lethal animal

DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
Finally getting better, the swab samples showed a few different resistant bacteria and VERAFLOX 120mg ticked all the boxes for his infection... So a week of one a day seemed to sort him out, but it took a few days after that week for the swelling to start subsiding.... So back to the vet and got another 14 prescribed...on day 6 of those so far....Have him out for hour walks off the lead now tearing around like a looney jumping fences and ditches....Not holding his foot up the following day anymore... Will post up a pic in a week or so....Hopefully get him a bit more action before the seasons out!

Hes been back out running but his fitness is not what it should be for this time of year.. lots of bike work and more running should see him come good again..
