walshie 2,804
2 weeks ago a wren flew into our conservatory and knocked itself out on the window trying to get out. I picked it up and put it on the window sill thinking it might be dead, but it perked up and started flapping about. I opened all the windows and closed the door to the conservatory and as it had gone a short while later I assumed it had flown out. 2 days ago it was flying round in the kitchen. It flew to the front door which I opened but wouldn't fly out. It then flew back to the conservatory. It's still in there I think. We've had most of the furniture out and there was bird poo on the floor behind a storage box, but it's so small it could be anywhere. I've no idea what it's been eating or drinking for 2 weeks. It seems too stupid to use the windows or doors and I can't leave them open forever. Any ideas on how to attract it out from wherever it's living so I can net it or something? peterhunter86 8,627
I think wrens are strictly insect eaters if your going to feed it use mealworms or small bits of ham

fireman 10,919
But not dried ones as they have no nutritional value for a bird and better off getting some maggots from the tackle shop,i've caught birds that have escaped from my aviaries with the good old fashioned box on stick and string on the stick and a bowl of food and water under neath it so you may laugh at the idea but deffo works at times..

Hydropotesinermis 724
+1 to the fact that Wren's are strict insect eaters. Mealworms, maggots etc etc might lure it out.
tomburras 2,730
I knew of a guy who got. Wren stuck in his big greenhouse. He stuck wallpaper over the glass panes and opened the windows. it saw the light and flew out of the window the same day he tried it.
