king 11,972
Have many of you got navaras oh here lads. Thinking of getting 1 for a family run around and to put muddy dogs in the back hunting etc. So and all in 1 vehicle really. What's the pros and cons with them I know the fuel economy is quite low but diesel is near enough a £1 a litre so not over bothered about consumption. Cheers King. antg 1,777
good motor. on that year they have the good engine. the 2002 - early 2005 models have the engine problems. my pal had one from new and it was a nice motor. very spacious inside and was actually pretty good on fuel for what it was. i had the early model and would have another in a heart beat. king 11,972
Thanks for that ant yea I have read about dodgy Conrod bearings I think they were in some engines but didn't know what year. But you've cleared that up for me now. Cheers King.

neil82 1,080
Any reliability issues Jjm.my mate has had a few shoguns but he's had nothing but problems with them. So want to stay away from shoguns. several electrical faults, most can be traced to the big junction box in the drivers footwell, clutch not strong enough for a towing work horse and there`s neither enough paint or metal on the chassis, D40`s are now starting to be scrapped regularly due to the rear end turning into rust
king 11,972
That don't sound to clever Neil. Don't like the look of the ranger demented to be honest.
*The*Field*Marshall* 674
I think there was a thread on here back along "life's regrets" or something like that . . One chap said "buying a navara" it got some approval! I was think navara, quite like these Amoraks now . .
air gun ant 1,666
I had the 06 navara outlaw and to be fair it was a good bus! It was embarrassing sometimes when you'd put 2 wheels on the grass to let a car past on a lane and not be able to get of again! Lol but soon as you put it in 4wd it was fine. Clutch went at 120000 and I couldn't afford to fix it at the time so sold it. Regretted it ever since

Gaz_1989 9,539
2 of my good mates have got them and a lad at work who shoots has got one. I think same as anything they need looking after. My mates are 56 and 60 plate. The chap at works is 57 plate. He's just had to have the head gasket, clutch and a few other bits done so had a big bill but it's done 100k miles and he's done a lot of towing. All 3 seem to like them. I fancy the Navara Outlaw 3.0 V6 DCI if I go down the pickup route.

air gun ant 1,666
Also, I always thought it was good towing, but I'd only pulled small trailers and boats etc but a farmer mates truck broke down so I lent him the nav for a week. When he gave it back he said "you couldn't pull a chicken of a nest in that f**ker!" Lol cheeky sod
