BGD 6,436
What type of boiler? Should only be looking at about a grand to buy a new combi but it's the installation where they bend you over couple of hundred just to get a Corgi registered engineer to look at a boiler

trapperman 474
Had mine all fixed up last year and been ok since, I've always stuck with the same guy he's got his own business and gas safe, said he could supply and fit a new ideal combi boiler for just under 2 grand

Fellman Mark 607
Is just a new boiler or full heating system ? Decent boiler and flue about £1000 and £500 to fit that's what my mate charges in County Durham
cragman 2,780
I bought a Vaillant eco tec pro three years ago off the 'tinternet. After reading reviews and checking prices elsewhere, I bought mine from a place in Sheffield. It cost just over 700£ picked up. I then had a mate in the trade fit it for me, so I saved bucks there. Shop around for the best prices for fitting only. British gas are notorious for charging the earth for such jobs. It's like going to Kwikfit for your tyres...You'll know you'll get ripped off. CORGI registered is the way to go for piece of mind and legal. Edited November 17, 2015 by cragman
Lab 10,979
Surely there are these 'green' schemes to help replace older/broken boilers. I've heard of them before but never looked into them.

gnipper 6,504
I just paid 1400 for a vaillant eco fitted with one of them magna clean things too. We had been using an antique Worcester one (1988) for about 4 years and this thing is a million times better
