Rabbits Close To Hedge

Bin out last 3 nights on trot in different areas within 10 mile radius and the bunnys bin with in 10 ft from the earths and hedge rows ain't found one in the field poxy

I still slip on a hedge row rabbit as seen my dog and many others turn them off of them or run them so fast the rabbit can't slow down to get in,if i didn't i'd be moaning like you for not getting runs for my dog ..or you could get out later when they may be out further in the fields mate ..

Get quite a few by the hedge a lot of time they panic or just be daft and run back out

To add had one a couple of nights ago his nose must have been touching the sheep netting but he turned back out into the field which was his undoing

On a night we might not be able to pick and choose, the number of times Ive seen bunnies making a mistake at a hedge, fence or wall....always worth a slip..

Or earlier as they may be returning from feeding? But it's a fair bet they were out feeding and have either smelt him or heard him and headed for home.

You've nothing to loose and every to gain if the dog susses how to get the nak of getting them on a hedge and keep the lamp on the place where the rabbit pops in as most will go in and stop and it gives the dog that chance to dive in and grab them.To many folk just urn off the lamp as the bunny hits the hedge and many a rabbit is glad they do so to

Depends on weather, to still and most will hear dog comming a mile a way and in and gone, get nice rough night dog will have a much better chance on them , depends on night for me

i dont always slip on rabbits close to the hedge as i think they will be there for another day but in a better position to be caught. however if the weather is rough then i will slip on the odd one or two of them.

 

ive seen many a rabbit over the years sat a few feet from a hedge and for some strange reason decide it wants to break across the field and go for the hedge oppisite but i am still dubious about slipping on them.

The ones near the hedges are the only ones mine have a chance on...anything further out will outrun them.
