Scotland , years ago when reading edrd t/r used do catch most types of deer, few foxes, hares and few rabbits . he seemed to do well. but he did travel about there and Scotland quite big place look around .

If its Tom Riley your on about......................Tom Riley was a good bloke and use to catch the stuff ...........maybe not as much and as often that he made out but still more than most lol . use to go up there 3/4 times a year and put a fair bit of gear away in.late 80s ,allways made to feel welcome even if it wasn't the cleanest of places and I use to lose a good 2 stone in a visit lol..........his dogs were heavily deer hounded blooded dogs but truth be told he didn't know who the sire was half the time to a litter ......but he did catch a lot of stuff and his dogs did the job what he kept them for and funny enough he did have a greyhound bitch that wasn't bad on the reds

I could have had pup of him back then, he give me the fuel to get back home, which was very good offer I think. but I had pit x grey from Joe smith stuff, had pup out nugget x grey instead . but he did come over nice bloke , but liked good tale lol

Everyone is getting a bit excited, no one asked for post codes. As we all know, it isn't easy to find good spots, even in good areas and the "idiots" ain't willing to stick the miles/hours in.

 

So chillax mun, no one is asking for permission. In fact those said spots are all over the cuntry in certain places .

I've done a hell of a lot of exploring and rooting about in the UK and there's only one place I know where all six species of deer can be seen on the same land. (In the wild).There's also fox, hare and rabbits there too, so that would be the nearest place to a lurchermans paradise. Of course, catching them is different from seeing them. :thumbs:

The British Isles ain't a big place...'specially so for a keen man and an even keener dog....

 

I struggle to believe that there is a place in the wild holding Chinese water deer, muntjac, sika, roe, fallow and red all on the same land. I know the 6 species share a county but deffo not a certain place??

I've had the famous 5 a good few times now and a couple of them times 3 species of deer. Do you think it would be possible to have the famous 5 that including all 6 species of deer in 1 nights? Now that would be a near on impossible task lol

In The good old days when you could go anywhere and do anything and be welcomed by a landowner for removing pests etc etc.

 

Where were the best places to go in the UK for having a go at everything in one night/day..

Example maybe..ferreting and digging in the daytime for Rabbits and Foxes etc and running the Hares and possibly Deer both Daytime and Night.

 

Has anyone ever had all the lot in one trip out... ? You could also include feather if you wanted to get pedantic. And if there ever was a competition you could include fish as well.. lol.
