Pre - Ban.. Where Could You Go To Catch All The Uk Species In One Night ?

I went a belting place before the ban where we hunted Rabbit, Hare, Fox, Muntjac, Roe and CWD in one day. It was as close as I've been to "the full species" in one place.

 

I aren't gonna post the location on here though. Lol.

Am I wrong though??? We live on a small island full of idiots. . . . . . . . . those wild places where the game is a plenty and the hunting is good, need protecting. The average person who wants to go and 'smash da f**k' out of the place and plaster photos over Facebook. . . . . . don't really do those kind of places much good!

But I just wouldn't go sticking it on the net. . . . if they haven't got the desire, drive or brains to go find it for themselves, or from their friends and hunting partners. . . . . then do they deserve to know???

Deer were always my thing pre ban and i've hunted them in almost every county... And to my knowledge only two counties offer all six within a few miles of each other .. my best in one session is 3 species and i've done it with one dog a fair few times. I've had my chances to take 4 but something always stopped it from happening..

I've done a hell of a lot of exploring and rooting about in the UK and there's only one place I know where all six species of deer can be seen on the same land. (In the wild).There's also fox, hare and rabbits there too, so that would be the nearest place to a lurchermans paradise. Of course, catching them is different from seeing them. :thumbs:

The British Isles ain't a big place...'specially so for a keen man and an even keener dog....

I struggle to believe that there is a place in the wild holding Chinese water deer, muntjac, sika, roe, fallow and red all on the same land. I know the 6 species share a county but deffo not a certain place?? Edited November 17, 2015 by Con6212

Scotland , years ago when reading edrd t/r used do catch most types of deer, few foxes, hares and few rabbits . he seemed to do well. but he did travel about there and Scotland quite big place look around .
