Calling Jackdaws

I watched a utube clip recently of the shooting show where mark gilchrists mate was calling in jackdaws. the sound this lad made was impressive to say the least.iv since found out the caller he was using was a primos power crow caller. I have the previous version and I can't seem to make that pitch of call on my caller. my question is are the two callers identical or is ther a difference with the newer power caller.

you need to bite it with your teeth....to get the squeek..ive called a bunch in shot 2 or 3 out of it and then swung them back round for a few more!

do you have the older black one or the newer one? mine is the power crow but i had the black one and from memory it was a better jackdaw call than the newer one any how

Iv got the older one but iv just ordered the newer power crow caller today thanks

Just received the newer power crow caller. it's got a higher pitch than the older version, il have to start practicing.

its very easy to use once you get it...let me know how you get on and if your still struggeling ile make you a video

hi Perth shire keeper,iv been practicing with the power caller and watching clips of other people on utube but I can't seem to get the pitch as good as those guys. any chance of you showing me on a clip how you go about it ,cheers

Pistolpete im a decoyer myself if you would like me to send you a video of the calls i can make id be glad to help. Iv been decoying corvids for 10 years and have some great success the key to calling jackdaws is the biting of the end of the call by biting down and blowing short and sharp you can getvthe hogh pitch chatters perfect. Iv taught a fair few people how to call properly. Best callers for jackdaws are either a primos or a acme

bite down as you blow..hold it for a split second and let go with your teeth! while still blowing.........

There is two types one u can squeeze with your teeth the other u can't the one u can squeeze makes more life like sounds

ive got one of the callers and it works great, ive always had good luck putting 2 crow deek over a split open rabbit or pigeon and one a bender and using it, always seems to pull them well and help build a pattern up

Best caller you could buy is the primos 302.... it will do everything but you just need to learn how to... i use it and the acme to great effect on both crows and jackdaws
