Neal 1,857
All these photos, and the accompanying for and against comments, reminds me of when I was training my first lurcher. She was a first cross beardie/greyhound and had the frustrating habit (or so I thought at the time) of thinking for herself. She eventually became a beautiful jumper but refused to jump just because I was asking her to and, in my youth inexperience, I couldn't understand why she was so stupid that she'd ignore a request to jump a fence in front of her and choose to crawl under a gap a few yards away. Like with most of my experiences with dogs...I eventually learnt that she was right. Edited November 14, 2015 by Neal 6 Quote Link to post

scottish lurcher 185
Is jumping important for a lurcher its something I've never really thought of till I seen this . I like a lurcher to (hjkcc ) would you really want one that can't jump ? Chases a rabbit and it runs under a fence ,dog can't jump it prob try to run through it and get cut up bad so defo need to be able to jump. in my view jumping is just as important as retrieving . I take it you are newbie to training lurchers and working them .don't mean to be harsh on you but get your dog jumping as it could save it from injury and all so get few more rabbits atb with dog .
