desertbred 5,490
I really dont get the crys for photographs. If you want to see dog work in action, put yer boots on and get out hunting! Armchair hunters springs to mind. Some folk like to keep photos of dogs past and present and that is fine. Keeping photos of ferreting, lamping rabbits on permission is fine. However banging photos of illegal activities is stupid to say the least. A clued up plod will check phones for photos, its suprising the number who retain "action shots" on their phones, Same photos of underweight dogs and marked up dogs dont do the owners or the sport any good what so ever , whats the old saying what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. To win the hearts and minds of the public the country activity followers need to be twice as media aware as the LACS and antis. Any true hunter and dog worker does not go in for wholesale slaughter , a couple for the pot or the old lad or lady down the road great but carcasses left to rot or tossed in hedges and ditches is ammunition for the Antis. 4 Quote Link to post

Flynn 314
The AWL is Championing the working Lurcher and a return of the status quo. We feel we shall no longer be justifying our photos that are posted here, Face book, the web site and Moochers . The mere fact that Taz at 14 years of age and a Young lady pictured together on our face book timeline, needs no justification , but a testiment to those of us who do NOT see Lurchers as a disposable commodity, when no longer of use. A working Lurcher faces danger in the very nature of its job, some sadly die Young, others of injury or illness or old age, its life, and we have to deal with it. To those who dont see that as being media savi, i suggest those that think that way may have their own doubts and should look to their own strength of character. We shall no longer hesitate in what to post , photo and text wise to some who would see it not PC!!, if we are seen to be bowing to the few, it would be seen, that we had no back bone, let me assure You we have it in the bucket load. One cannot take the forums out with us on our hunting days. so the posting of photos, is the next best thing, in the account of our days legal days hunting and in most part the very best we can do. Its a sad state of affairs that the enemy lies within.... We have in place a code of conduct and further down the line we will be implementing accredited memberships, which will be a bench mark for best practice. to show Landowners, landagents , gamekeepers and all other fractions of hunting is as equal as any other forms of hunting, not a second class relation. If we are to be taken seriously then we must stand up, shout loud and never feel ashamed of our chosen way of life. I saw post else where with a photo of a dressed rabbit in its tray wrapped and ready to go, the ticket above it said ' Watershipdown, seen the fllm , read the book, now eat the characters' I know some of You may laugh at that ( i know i did ) the sad fact is the butcher is leaning towards buying in farmed rabbit rather the the wild rabbit, those of us who ( not I LOL ) have the oppotunity to sell copious amounts of rabbits, are having to seek alternative buyers, A situation that needs addressing. A Lady foxhunter, ( with a funny name ) films her day with a web cam on her hat, she has been advised, it would not be the best thing to do showing hounds working, therefore she take the video down, what a load of bollox , why should she? to be PC? Its PC gone mad!! Have great season every one. Keep those photos coming and we thank You for Your support. Jayne ( AWL Sec ) 3 Quote Link to post
courser 73
Wonderful words Jane! For over twenty years now those that wish to fight for the working dog man/woman have had to fight not only the anti field sports crew but also to fight those who should be on our side, but for reasons of their own can only call from the sidelines. People who cannot use their own name but hide under various usernames. The A.W.L. and before that the A.L.C. stands for the ordinary working dog man/woman. you are the people that matter. Picking holes in photos and text that they do not understand and expecting us to be PC in case we put a foot wrong is playing into the hands of the antis. Our detractors are doing the job for the them. Yes, we are aware that the antis will jump on any mistake we make (not unlike our detractors) yes we must be careful not to publish anything that could be seen as illegal, but we must stand and be counted. we are proud of our country sports and if we don't fight for them who will? If they wish to support the fight for a repeal, fight the antis, not the very organisation that supports the working dog man/woman. Alan Tyer. Chairman A.W.L. 2 Quote Link to post

courser 73
I am happy for constructive criticism, it is what makes us move forward, mistakes will be made, but remember we are supposed to be on the same side. The more we fight each other, it is energy wasted. Let us all use that energy to fight for repeal. Alan Tyer. Quote Link to post

desertbred 5,490
If you want to hunt outside the law then crack on but keep your mouth shut about it That is the sensible way and path that most folk follow. However some folk want or need to reinvent the wheel, so no doubt they will continue on a well trodden path that led to the present hunting ban so let them crack on..also.
