Cheers Giro, I'm perfectly conversant with the ins and outs of electronic sign up, and in fact most things to do with computers and the web. I just don't like Facebook and never have  .

I could ask where AWL have been for the last 10 years but on the positive side I'de rather support them, and will!! I'm living in Ireland now but happy to donate a pittance and hope it does some good. Cheers for the effort you've put in Giro.

Thank you mate.

I personally appercaite those kind words.

I don't bother with Facebook much myself but just clicked on the link giro and the main pic of a lurcher with a young girl.that dog need some food putting in it.full rib cage on show and hip bones sticking up like a whitches hat.

If you look at the caption with the photo the dog was 14 years old in the photo and wasn't long for this world. Nice photo, but good PR would have used a younger, less ribby animal with a decent shiny coat. Lurchers are often called 'skinny' by the general public and see lurcher owners as uncaring yobs. no sense in underpinning their views with photo of dog under par, or maybe they could say it is a rescue that had just been taken in and had found love and a caring home at last.

Ffs king dog looks in prime condition any more faults you can see is the young girls hair ok well done giro at least you are doing somthing

You tell me the benefits of having a dog so lean as that then n.lite.there ain't mate the dog looks to underweight and as skycat stated use a different pic.do you not think that non hunting folk would look at that pic and think the same as what I've said.

That Lurcher was 14, she about to die... her name was Taz , she grafted more then most dogs would ever do in their life time and the Young lady a family relation.

It's a lovely photo of a well loved old dog: and WE know that, as much as we know that old lurchers often get skinny as they lose muscle but don't have the thicker skin and subcutaneous fat of other breeds which would hide that fact, but I still think that photos in the public domain need to be assessed with the general public in mind. Good PR is everything in this media-driven age.

I was merely commenting on the pic in front of me mate. I didn't know the age or that the dog was on its last legs. But if the dog was younger and being kept in that underweight condition I would think it was underweight.
