I've just picked up a pig farm perm , and wondered just for a change do you think I would get away with a red t20 on the 100k , or just stick with the nv gear

Would you say that a good zero range would be 20 yards to start with

NV gear mate. No question. Ratting is about numbers, and the light may cause the odd few to leg it.

 

Sit back 20 yards [if the space allows], NV gear and clear the buggers out.

ive done ok in the past using a light source its all about knowing where there most active and where there runs are and any holes were they enter or exit

If it's crawling then you probably will get a few with lamp but they soon wise up so not realy much point as you already have nv. I don't alter my zero either but it depends on the layout of the place. Like rez says get some distance from them because they ain't daft.

I don't have a perm yet although I do know a few farmers so I will be shooting a few rats before long. I bought a T20 red Cree lamp which gives a good light but this was just to get me into night shooting and I have been doing a little practice with that at targets.

 

I came across a nice NV unit on ebay which the guy has sold to a few of the 'Airgun' forum lads who all seem very pleased with it so I think that is the next purchase. I know quite a number of guys have made their own but to be honest, I don't think I want to make one.

 

This is the one I will buy, the sale has ended but I have spoken to the guy who is happy to do one for me just phone him.
